Closed circuit television (CCTV) on Whitefriars Housing land is controlled by our in house Response Team from a modern control room.
The control room is operational 24/7 every day of the year.
The security system operates to a strict code of practice which sets standards and procedures for the service is run. The code gives clear guidance on the use of CCTV cameras and the storage and use of recorded images. This conforms to Home Office legislation on Data Protection and Information Act.
The aims for the use of the CCTV cameras are:
- Reduction and removal of the fear of crime
- Control of access to blocks
- Identify of breaches of tenancy conditions via anti social behaviour
- Assist in the management of emergencies
- Fire Safety
