Graffiti and Rubbish Removal
Graffiti and rubbish are an eyesore, making our property and estates look untidy and unwelcoming. Rubbish can also be a fire risk and attract pests.
It is an offence to fly tip rubbish and there are serious penalties for it . Fines range from £100 and can be unlimited, (and include prison sentences), for tipping on a commercial scale.
Generally speaking on estates smaller scale fly tipping happens. This includes the dumping of bags of rubbish or other items, including old household furniture and appliances.
This is a serious problem for Whitefriars with over 5205 separate instances as a result of which we removed over 750 tonnes of fly tipped rubbish a year.
We work very closely with Coventry City Council’s enforcement team, who can issue fines and take legal action to deal with this problem. We will also take our own direct action including serving notice of intention to seek possession of homes under the conditions of tenancy.
We aim to remove offensive graffiti within 7 hours and non offensive within 4 working days. We aim to remove fly tipped rubbish causing danger/obstruction within 7 hours and other rubbish within 5 working days.
