Delivering improvements

Since
we took over properties from the Council, we have fitted some 10,700
new windows, 12,600 new kitchens and bathrooms and carried out other
major works, such as rewiring, to a further 12,000 homes. We have
spent over five million on environmental improvement to works to our
customer’s homes and neighbourhoods. Over 3,000 homes within
Whitefriars’ multi-occupancy blocks have benefited from our new door
entry systems.
Our kitchen and bathroom improvements programme is on target with our partnering contractors to be completed a year ahead of schedule.
Everyone who has the kitchen and bathroom work completed is surveyed for their opinions on the work, providing valuable feedback for future service enhancement.
Where residents have special needs and adaptations are required to their homes, we have our own occupational therapist, who identifies these needs, so that our contractors can integrate the recommended adaptations into their improvements work.
We work closely with residents, for example, at Ferrers Close, to establish partnerships for a range of improvements, and set up neighbourhood agreements with residents to help protect their environment.
In three areas of the City, we have also piloted a Neighbourhood Improvement Programme (NIP) to explore how we can achieve resident-led, coordinated improvements to small neighbourhood areas.
